THE ART APPRAISAL PROCESS
An Artwork Appraisal begins with a complimentary consultation to determine the best course of action for your needs. If available, it’s helpful to know:
• The number of artworks you would like to have appraised
• If clear photos are available, or if you would like the works inspected in person
• The names of the artists, or any other details about the art if available (if not sure, you may also send photos for review)
Based on this information, a plan of action and quote will be provided. The appraisal will be completed in a timely manner and delivered electronically or in hard copy, depending on your preference.
Please get in touch with Lindsay Inouye, ISA member, to discuss your appraisal needs:
ART APPRAISAL FAQ
Q: Can you appraise art remotely?
A: In many cases, an appraisal can be conducted using high-quality photos, meaning an in-person inspection may not be necessary.
Q: How long does an appraisal take?
A: Appraising, documenting, and reporting on a single work of art usually takes between 45 minutes and two or more hours. This depends greatly on the artist and the work itself, and the level of research required.
